12 Things Your Stool Says About Your Health

11:09
How to understand if you're really healthy? Here's the easiest way to do it: check your stool colors and what learn they mean. As gross as it may sound, the color and shape of your stool can reveal a lot about your health. Any changes you might notice can be a sign of a serious disease. TIMESTAMPS Stool color 0:29 White 1:08 Green 2:00 Yellow 2:39 Black 3:38 Red 4:17 Stool shape 5:29 SUMMARY - If you see separate solid lumps reminiscent of nuts or goat feces in your toilet bowl, it is likely a sign of severe constipation. This type of stool means your body lacks fiber. - Sausage-shaped, large, and lumpy stool speaks of constipation. This type of stool is also caused by a lack of fiber. - If the cracked sausage-shaped stool is what you usually have, there are no reasons to worry. That’s a normal stool. You’re doing just fine! - If you stand with those whose feces are soft, sausage-shaped, and smooth – congratulations! Your stool is as perfect as stool can be! - Soft lumps with clear edges are a sign of light diarrhea. It could also mean that you are experiencing irritable bowel syndrome. - If your stool comes in fluffy pieces with ragged edges, it looks like you are having mild diarrhea. Remember how we told you to have more fiber? Well, in this case, it is just the opposite. Maybe there’s too much fiber in your diet.  - Liquid without solid pieces type of feces is what no one likes to see. It speaks of severe diarrhea. Do you take problems with your stools seriously? 10 Hidden Details The Secret Service Doesn't Want You To Know

13:07
Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg Try out ThePremium Network for free https://goo.gl/7Ueuwz For copyright matters please contact us at: david.f@valnetinc.com You’ve seen them running alongside the presidential limousine, scanning large crowds like hawks and walking around the grounds of the White House. Of course, we’re talking about the US Secret Service. These men and women have a serious job and they definitely look the part. Dressed in their black suits, their best-known job is to protect the POTUS. But there’s more to it than that. As you’ll see with these following 10 secrets, the Secret Service is about more than looking intimidating while wearing sunglasses. Ahead we’ll start you off by explaining the original purpose of the Secret Service. Spoiler alert – it didn’t actually involve protecting the President. From investigations to interrogations, we’ll take a look at some of the other jobs the Secret Service performs today. Ever wonder what would happen if most of the US government was wiped out? Well, the Secret Service plays a role in ensuring the continuity of the government and it involves the secret location of Mount Weather. Of course, all those men and women in suits need a place to hang out and we’ve found it on H Street in Washington D.C. We’ll also show you that the Secret Service isn’t all about taking a bullet either. No, they are prepared to perform all sorts of life-saving procedures on the President to ensure their chances of staying alive between the time of an incident and arrival at the nearest hospital. There’s also the fact that not all agents are human. That’s right, dogs do their part in the secret service and their training is just as rigorous as it is for their two-legged masters. Then there’s the proximity of the Secret Service to the President. As you’ll see, they are always nearby and sometimes it can be a little too close for comfort. Even in the safe confines of the White House, agents are on guard and that includes those stationed in the kitchen. They’re not just there to keep the chefs safe. We’ll show you how agents are forensic experts who can track down a threatening letter just by the type of ink it was written with. Finally, there’s the weaponry and equipment. We all know the Secret Service packs some firepower. However, the types of devices and weapons can be truly mind-boggling as it demonstrates they are ready for nearly any scenario. 13:11
Do you want to clean your blood vessels? How to decrease the risk of heart attacks in the future? Are you ready to improve your overall well-being? Here are 15 food products that can take care of your heart and prevent heart diseases. Our heart is one of the most important organs, but, surprisingly, we take care of it the least, loading it every day with stress and unhealthy diets. And that's too bad because fatty food increases cholesterol levels, which leads to vascular plaques that prevent the heart from working correctly. In this video, you will get familiar with 15 products that perform all these activities! Some of them might surprise you with their health benefits! Watch till the end - as a bonus, you will find a recipe for a special drink for healthy blood vessels. And remember to press the like button in appreciation of our work! TIMESTAMPS Fatty fish 1:05 Oatmeal 1:51 Berries 2:30 Dark chocolate 3:19 Nuts 4:00 Extra virgin olive oil 4:45 Red wine 5:23 Green tea 5:53 Broccoli and spinach 6:35 Avocado 7:39 Pomegranate 8:13 Cinnamon 8:43 Watermelon 9:14 Garlic 9:43 Apples and pears 10:28 SUMMARY - Salmon, mackerel, herring, haddock, and other fatty fish decrease the risk of arrhythmia and atherosclerosis. They also contain lots of vitamins as well as minerals. - Rich in fiber, porridge decreases the levels of "bad" cholesterol and improves digestion. Coarse oatmeal is the healthiest. - Blueberries and strawberries are very good at lowering blood pressure and dilating blood vessels. Strawberry-lovers also get fiber, folate, antioxidants, and potassium from their favorite berries. - Dark chocolate provides the anti-stress effect as it increases the production of serotonin which is known for its calming effect. Cocoa, the main component of dark chocolate, also helps to prevent memory decline. - Nuts contain protein fibers that are useful for the heart. They also have vitamin E as their ingredient which helps to decrease the levels of "bad" cholesterol. - Olive oil is very high in oleic acid which reduces blood pressure. It is interesting that when the olives are crashed, oil leaves them naturally; therefore, beneficial ingredients and vitamins are not harmed by chemicals or preservatives. - French scientists have also found out that red wine contains some elements which can prolong a human lifespan for about 60 percent! Saying this, it still should be consumed in moderation. - Green tea makes the brain function better. This drink may decrease the risk of different types of cancer (such as prostate and breast cancer). - Broccoli, in particular, has a lot of medicinal benefits, such as prevention of some kinds of cancer, digestive system improvement, detoxification of the body. It also resembles a vitamin injection, filling you with numerous vitamins and minerals. - Avocados are packed with fiber, which can be useful for weight loss, blood sugar reduction, and other health-benefitting processes. - Pomegranates contain antioxidants, lower blood pressure, normalize blood circulation and increase hemoglobin levels. - Cinnamon can protect you from heart diseases and atherosclerosis. It also boosts metabolism and helps you to lose weight. - Watermelon plays an important role in vascular health. It stabilizes the cholesterol levels and contains antioxidants. It provides hydration, which is a great thing for your body. - Garlic dilates the vessels, lowers blood pressure, alleviates vasoconstriction, and prevents atherosclerotic plaques from appearing. It improves digestion as well, assisting in the functioning of the intestines. - Apples and pears are rich in fiber that helps your heart. Stephen Nolan went to the Univeristy of Manchester to meet Prof Ian Anderson who is carrying out a study on people with depression. With the help of brain imaging, his research has found that in the hippocampus area of the brain, there is 25% less grey matter in people suffering with depression than those who don't. 8 Signs You're Suffering from Depression Without Knowing It

11:31
How to understand you're suffering from depression? How to get rid of depression which is a serious health condition that can’t be ignored? Depression is a serious matter that, unfortunately, doesn’t get talked about enough. Simply feeling a little sad can make us think that we're depressed, but that's not always the case…or is it? Let's find out what signs are hinting that you might actually be suffering from “the plague of the 21st century”. How to recognize depression? 0:54 The most common signs of depression are the following: you constantly feel down and tired. Your self-esteem has hit rock bottom. You have concentration and memory problems and troubles sleeping. Your weight changes, it can go either way: you all of a sudden gain several pounds or your weight drops drastically. Nothing, including your favorite food, TV show, video game, or even meeing up with your besties, brings you pleasure. You experience mood swings, and you can suddenly become extremely short-tempered with a lack of basic tolerance. Your health deteriorates. It's really common for depressed people to suddenly start experiencing aches and pains, most frequently in the joints or back. If at least 3 to 4 signs hit home for you, it most likely means that you have some form of depression. Basically, the more signs you’re showing, the more depressed you are. How to make it better? 7:34 The first thing you have to do is go to the doctor. According to psychotherapist Sean Grover, there are steps you can take in three areas of your life to make your mental state better. The first thing to take care of is your body. Start doing 30-minute workouts at least 3 times a week, get at least 7 hours of sleep a night, and add more of your favorite foods to your diet, especially sugary ones. The second and equally important part is your mind. Try to explore the world around you as if you never have before. Finally, your spirit should also get a dose of treatment too. The best thing you can do here is meditation. Through it, you can learn to understand and listen to yourself on a deeper level. Try to explore the world around you as if you never have before. Your spirit should also get a dose of treatment too with meditation. -“Seasonal depression” can be treated with natural substances. Experts also recommend to start seeing a doctor earlier and doing it regularly. Do you have any methods of your own on how to fight depression? Tell us in the comments below! 7 Curious Facts Your Appearance Says About You

08:39
Research continues to show that our appearance can say a lot about our personality and lifestyle. Let’s find out what exactly your facial features can say about you. Psychologist and neuroscientist Dr. Keith Welker studied the facial structure of around 1,000 World Cup soccer players and found that a player’s facial width-to-height ratio was closely connected to the number of goals he scored. The higher the number, the more competent a person is. Your wrinkles tell the story of your life. There are certain muscles that work every time you smile, cry, frown, or raise your brows. After some time, they get used to particular emotions and “draw” them on your face, making them visible even when your face is resting. There's a slight differentiation between genders when it comes to picking “the good side”. Women tend to turn to the camera with their left side. Researches believe that this is because the left part of our face is controlled by the right hemisphere of our brain, which is responsible for our emotions. That's why it seems way more attractive. In 2015 a group of scientists analyzed 123 selfies taken from Sina Weibo, a Chinese microblogging site sort of like Twitter. The researchers found a fascinating connection between types of selfies and people's personalities. Selfie takers with the infamous duck face and high angle tend to be neurotic. People who are friendlier and more open to new experiences tend to use the bottom-up approach while taking selfies. Have you ever noticed how identical twins start to look less and less alike as they get older? You can have the best genes ever, but the lifestyle you lead will still affect your appearance. A crease on your forehead between your eyebrows suggests a completely different story. -Engineers, mathematicians, and chemists usually pose with their right side to the camera, while art critics and psychologists prefer their left side. -People who are friendlier and more open to new experiences tend to use the bottom-up approach while taking selfies. -The bigger a person's nose, the more ambitious they are. -Your bad habits are slowly being imprinted right on your face. -Beautiful people might seem way friendlier than they really are. HIDDEN SECRETS Of Women In North Korea EXPOSED

Try out ThePremium Network for free: http://goo.gl/2gNzDb CONFESSIONS Of Women In North Korea Revealed Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg For copyright matters please contact us at: david.f@valnetinc.com We all know that life in North Korea doesn’t exactly seem all that great, but there are a number of unique challenges faced by the women that live there. We’ll give you some inside perspective about what it is like to be a woman living under the North Korean regime. Surprisingly, things have relaxed a bit under the regime of their leader Kim Jong-un, and women are now allowed to have cosmetic surgery to appear more attractive and further their careers. Of course, this isn’t so much a leisure cosmetic practice, but more of an unofficial requirement frequently performed by unqualified people in unsanitary conditions. For those that prefer less invasive beauty methods, you might be surprised to know that despite proclaiming to hate South Korea, the beauty products from their greatest enemy are their absolute favorite. In North Korea, women are forced to serve in the military for seven years, but they are subjected to countless atrocities and receive very little actual training. In many cases, they do not even receive the nutrition that they need in order to remain in good health. Serving in the armed forces is just one way that women in North Korea are called upon to serve the regime, and they are forced to do some even more unscrupulous things that may shock you. You may think that women in the United States made a big deal about the love story in the movie Titanic, but for one North Korean woman that story gave her the desire and the courage to defect from North Korea. Homeopathy: Cure or Con? Marketplace CBC

22:30
CBC's Marketplace examines homeopathy in this week's episode. Homeopathic remedies take an ingredient — from a plant, animal or mineral — and dilute it repeatedly with water. The theory is that water retains the memory of the original ingredient. Practitioners say the more dilutions there are, the stronger the remedy. Critics say homeopathic treatments do nothing, putting people in danger as they delay getting conventional medical treatments. Supporters counter that it works on everything from headaches to cancer, even if they can't explain why. CBC asked a chemist with the University of Toronto to analyze two popular homeopathic remedies. Watch the full Marketplace investigation to see the results. 10 Foods to Eat to Fight Depression

06:00
It’s normal to feel depressed once in a while, when it’s connected to loss, life’s struggles, or a hurt self- esteem. But if deep sadness and feelings of being hopeless, helpless, and worthless become a part of your life and stop you from living normally, you may have clinical depression, a common but serious mood disorder. 1. Green Tea Drinking tea, especially green tea, is connected to a much smaller risk for depression. Because it has so many antioxidants and amino acids, green tea can help you fight depression in a natural way. Drink 3 to 4 cups of green tea every day to help lift your mood and your overall health as well. 2. Almonds Almonds have a lot of magnesium, which make them good for fighting depression. This is because magnesium helps make serotonin, a “feel good” brain chemical. This mineral also helps you have energy. Snacking almonds every day will help change your mood in a great way. 3. Salmon Because salmon is full omega-3 fatty acids, it is great for fighting depression. People who have depression usually don’t take in enough omega-3 fatty acids, which helps the brain work properly by lowering the swelling. 4. Dark Chocolate Dark chocolate can help raise serotonin levels in the body, which is almost like antidepressants. It also has carbohydrates in the form of sugar, which will tell the body to make more serotonin. Dark chocolate will also slow down the making of stress hormones, which will therefore lessen anxiety. Another thing dark chocolate can do is lessen the effects of chronic fatigue syndrome, because of its flavonoid content. 5. Eggs Eggs are another great food for fighting depression. This is because eggs, which are packed with protein and other nutrients also have zinc. Zinc is an important micronutrient that the body needs to help create neurotransmitters, and to keep them working properly. By eating foods full of zinc, like eggs, you can fight zinc deficiency and depression and maybe even other disorders. Eggs are also one of the few foods that have vitamin D. A lack of vitamin D is connected to depression and other mental health problems. 6. Bananas If you’re ever feeling low or depressed, try eating 1 or 2 bananas. Bananas have a lot of tryptophan which will raise the body’s serotonin level. They also help make tyrosine, which is needed for making norepinephrine and dopamine, two important neurotransmitters that can change your mood. 7. Avocados Because avocados have a great amount of omega-3 fatty acids they are a smart choice for people with depression. Avocados are full of tryptophan, an amino acid that helps lessen stress and relax a person. 8. Blueberries Blueberries have a lot of antioxidants that help the brain work properly and raise cognitive functioning. They also help a lot against depression. Blueberries also have mood- boosting nutrients like B- complex as well as selenium, zinc, and potassium. All these nutrients help neurologic and brain health in a good way. 9. Spinach Spinach is another great idea for fighting depression, because it is filled with nutrients like folic acid, magnesium, and zinc. These are important ingredients for brain health and fighting signs of depression. Try to eat more spinach by using it as a salad or for a green smoothie, or by adding it to your hot meals. 10. Asparagus Another green veggie that’s good for fighting depression is asparagus. Asparagus helps raise low folic acid levels that are linked to depression. It also has B vitamins which can help boost the mood. Asparagus has tryptophan, which helps create serotonin in the brain and blocks depression and anxiety. What Will Happen to Your Body If You Walk Every Day

10:09
Walking is a totally free, easy exercise that requires little effort, and benefits not only your physical but also your mental well-being. If you’re looking for a simple yet very effective way of losing weight and improving your overall health, walking is something just for you. People who are physically active throughout their life are much less prone to this disease than those who have a more sedentary lifestyle. And that’s because they have more volume in their hippocampus, the part of the brain responsible for verbal memory and learning. A daily half-hour walk helps avoid serious problems, like coronary heart disease to name one, by lowering high blood pressure and cholesterol levels and improving blood circulation. Because of better-quality and deeper breathing, some symptoms associated with lung disease can show significant improvement thanks to walking. Muscle tone and weight loss is also totally achievable through simple walking. Find your optimal pace, but don’t break out into a jog. This sort of speed walking is low impact and doesn’t require any recovery time, which means no sore muscles to keep you from getting out and walking the next day. The Arthritis Foundation recommends at least 30 minutes of moderate walking a day to reduce pain, stiffness, and inflammation in the joints. Building strong bones will help you prevent osteoporosis and reduce bone loss. Walking contributes to better blood circulation within the spinal structures, pumping important nutrients into the soft tissues and improving posture and flexibility, both of which are vital for a healthy spine. A group of researchers at Iowa State University worked with hundreds of college students. Walking changed their mood for the better, even though no one warned them it could do so. If you still don’t feel motivated enough to start walking for your health, try joining a class or find a buddy who also wouldn’t mind getting all the benefits of walking. Another idea could be to hire a personal trainer. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Brain-boosting effect 0:45 Improved eyesight 1:44 Prevention of heart disease 2:47 Increased lung volume 3:14 Benefits for the pancreas 3:51 Improved digestion 4:23 Toned muscles 4:59 Sturdier bones and joints 5:45 Back pain relief 6:10 A calmer mind 7:04 Bonus: the FIT formula 8:00 SUMMARY -Walking prevents the early onset of dementia, reduces the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease and improves your overall mental well-being by reducing stress and releasing endorphins. -Get on the road to improve vision and protect your eyes now from potential problems, such as glaucoma, in the future. -Walking is no less effective than running when it comes to the prevention of heart disease and stroke. -Walking is an aerobic exercise, which means that it increases oxygen flow in the bloodstream and helps eliminate toxins and waste, which is great for your lungs. -Walking for exercise is a surprisingly more effective way to prevent diabetes than running is. -Just half an hour of walking every day not only lowers the risk of developing colon cancer but also improves digestion and regulates bowel movements. -Just 10,000 steps a day can be just as effective as a full-blown workout at the gym, especially if you add some intervals or uphill walking. -Walking can provide more joint mobility, prevent the loss of bone density, and even reduce the risk of fractures. -Walking is a real life-saver for those who experience back pain during more challenging high-impact exercises. -Walking improves depression symptoms in patients with MDD, just imagine how easily it could help us cope with just feeling down or exhausted. -Keep in mind the FIT formula. It stands for Frequency (how often), Intensity (how fast), and Time (for how long). Put Salt in the Corners of Your House, and See What Happens

09:40
What will happen if you pour salt in the corners of your house? Spoiler: it will change your life. Here are the most unusual and powerful uses for salt. What is going to happen to you if you spill salt? Duh, it will bring you bad luck. We are sure you heard that, and you might believe it, or not. But have you ever wondered where that superstition comes from? Some people believe it is because Judas Iscariot spilled it at the Last Supper. Others find a more practical explanation: spilling salt meant bad luck and future loss because it was expensive. Expensive and precious. Yes, you heard it right. And why would salt be that important to anyone? It has some magical powers you might have never heard of. TIMESTAMPS History of salt 1:12 Salt was used in different rituals 1:50 Reviving shower 4:04 Good luck charm 4:46 Money attraction 5:14 Support in a foreign environment 5:35 Wash off the negative energy 6:15 Protect your home from evil visitors 6:40 Cast out the evil objects 7:02 The “witch bottle” 7:32 Good luck, peace, and prosperity 8:30 Salt has been around for thousands of years. You might see it just as something you add to your meals to add some flavor to them, but it meant much more to our ancestors. Harvesting salt used to be a long and complicated process, so only the rich were able to afford it. Ancient Romans even paid their soldiers with it, and the army appreciated that. It helped them preserve food, so that was fair enough. If you look at the origins of the word “salary” you will even see something salt-like in it. Yes, it comes from the Latin word for “salt.” Did you know that? If not, “like” this video to show you have just learned something new. Okay, it is clear that salt was expensive and highly appreciated. But that is just one side of it. From very old times, it was used in different rituals because of its magical powers. Ancient Egyptians, for example, would not set on a journey without performing a ritual involving salt. They burnt it on hot coals to scare away the evil spirits. Then, and only then, the caravans got on their way across the desert. We hope these tricks will help you feel better and live in harmony. 7 Things Your Pee Can Say About Your Health

08:49
7 things your urine is trying to tell you about your health. Have you ever seen green or blue urine? By checking the color, you can see whether your body is doing well or crying for help. As weird as it may sound, every time you go to the bathroom, you have a chance to check up on your health. No, we’re not talking about stepping on the scale or checking your face for breakouts. We’re talking about going number one! By examining the color of your urine, you can see whether your body is doing alright or if you need to go to the doctors. TIMESTAMPS Orange color 0:58 Pink and reddish color 2:13 Green or blue color 3:52 Brown color 5:05 Foaming or fizzy color 6:17 Transparent 7:03 Pale straw yellow, transparent yellow, or dark yellow color 7:34 SUMMARY - If you notice that the color of your urine has suddenly changed to orange, don’t worry just yet. As it turns out, some anti-inflammatory drugs, chemotherapy treatments, and laxatives with senna can cause such a color change. - Seeing pink or reddish urine usually sends most people into a panic, but it’s not really something to immediately freak out over. It could very well be caused by some foods or medications. If you’ve recently eaten beets, blackberries, or rhubarb, then you probably have nothing to worry about. Another reason could be that certain antibiotics that are used to treat tuberculosis can turn urine kind of reddish. - Eating some foods, like those that are artificially-dyed or asparagus, can discolor the urine to such an extent that it’s blue or green. If it’s because of this, there’s nothing to worry about, it’ll clear up in a day or two. Plus, medications like Amitriptyline, Indomethacin, and Propofol can cause these types of colors too. However, if none of these reasons seem likely to you, you should be dialing the doctor’s number right now. - If you notice brown shades in your urine, it could be a sign of severe dehydration. So put down those caffeinated drinks, and get more water into your body! Also, try to recall if you’ve eaten any rhubarb or fava beans lately. If you excluded these foods, and you know that you’re drinking lots water, but the color doesn’t go away, you guessed it: contact your doctor. Brown urine indicates problems with your liver and kidneys. - Having foamy urine from time to time is normal. It’s usually caused by the speed of urination. If it’s foamy after you’ve just shot that stuff out of you like a jet sprayer, don’t sweat it! But if it keeps coming back, and you notice it more and more often over time, who are you gonna call? The doctor! - If your urine is transparent, it’s a sign that you’re drinking too much water. Yes, too much is just as bad as too little! Drinking too much water can lead to certain risks, the most important of which is diluting the salts in your body. This can create a problematic chemical imbalance. - Ideally, your urine should be a pale gold color. If you are lucky enough to have the perfectly-colored pee, it means that you’re not under- or over-hydrated. You drink just as much water as you need. Good for you! If your urine is more concentrated and doesn’t look pale gold, it means that you need a little more water. Do you pay attention to the color of your urine, or do you feel weird checking it? YOU ARE NOT DEPRESSED, STOP IT!

02:29
Sorry, but somebody had to say it. This video focuses on mood depression, not clinical depression. Furthermore, this is not a purported “cure” for depression. This is a call to live in reality, you own depression, depression does not own you. The Sapir Whorf Hypothesis, and General Semantics have illustrated how our words can become our prisons. The labels “Disorder” “Disease” “Depressed,” when internalized, can create a reality filled with suffering that extends beyond the biochemical. Don't get me wrong, "Chemical Imbalances" are real, but that can be a gross oversimplification of what's going on. There's a great article called "Moving Beyond ‘Chemical Imbalance’ Theory of Depression" from the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation (https://goo.gl/28UkYk) that I encourage everyone to read. If you know anyone suffering that may need help immediately, call the 24-hour, toll-free confidential National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273- 8255 or go to www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org . On Feeling Depressed

05:12
There remains a huge amount of stigma around depression, but if we look at what an average human is up against, feelings of depression are entirely normal, indeed, to be expected. We don’t need to compound our misery through a sense that it’s either unusual or unwarranted. If you like our films, take a look at our shop (we ship worldwide): https://goo.gl/4oieGs Join our mailing list: http://bit.ly/2e0TQNJ Or visit us in person at our London HQ https://goo.gl/lyZu7N FURTHER READING “We’re not talking about the extreme, most paralysing, regions of despair – where external medical help is vital. Our target is rather the times when we feel – as indicated by Henry David Thoreau’s phrase – mired in moods of ‘quiet desperation’: a large, grey hinterland in which beneath an outward surface of endurance, we feel exhausted, close to tears, beyond the sympathetic understanding of others, easily irritated and daunted by the simplest tasks...” You can read more on this and other subjects on our blog, here: https://goo.gl/6WyB4m MORE SCHOOL OF LIFE Our website has classes, articles and products to help you think and grow: https://goo.gl/5T9DxD Watch more films on SELF in our playlist: http://bit.ly/TSOLself You can submit translations and transcripts on all of our videos here: https://goo.gl/NnX9xg SOCIAL MEDIA Feel free to follow us at the links below: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theschooloflifelondon/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheSchoolOfLife Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theschooloflifelondon/ CREDITS Produced in collaboration with: Dave Anderson http://bloodsausage.co.uk/ https://twitter.com/DaveAndersonBS #TheSchoolOfLife

My Depression Story: Where I've Been & What I'm Feeling

05:42
I can't believe I'm uploading this. Um. So. These are some things I just felt I needed to say. It's okay not to be okay. I want you to know that. That you're not alone in all of this. Those feelings that you're feeling are valid, you are not wrong in your emotions. But you need to know that this is not a way of life, everyday should not be a bad one and every morning should not be a struggle. If you're feeling unexplainable sadness or having thoughts of harming yourself or others, TALK TO SOMEBODY. I cannot stress that enough. Cutting yourself will not fix your problems. Purging your dinner will not make today better. Those toxic coping mechanisms are causing bigger problems in themselves. I promise you that they will not make any of this go away. Reach out to your parents, friends, people you trust, scream on the top of rooftops until they hear you and listen that you NEED HELP. There is nothing weak or shameful about admitting that you can't do this on your own. I love you. I care about you. You matter to ME. If you ever hurt yourself it would hurt me. My love is unconditional & I'm not going anywhere. We're going to get through this together. __________ Little things that have been making me feel better: SLEEP- this is SO underrated, just by getting 8+ hours of sleep a day I feel like my mind is working so much sharper and more rational Massages- Expensive, yes. Worth it? YES! They ease tension and have been proven to lighten the symptoms of depression. ( I'm told that acupuncture works wonders, but I'm a little freaked out by that one, but let me know if you recommend it!) Talking- This sounds stupid I know. But just talking to someone about what you're feeling. A therapist, your parents, your friends, ANYONE- this time around I'm so glad I told my friends and family what I was feeling because now we can talk about it with no shame or embarrassment on my end. ______________ What I'm Wearing: Top- My dads....stole it when I went back home, kinda like a security blanket, and I'm embarrassed to say I've worn it every day this week __ OTHER CHANNELS: Second Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/MoreMeghann __ TALK TO ME: Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/meghanrosette Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/meghanrosettte Instagram http://instagram.com/meghanrosette Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/meghanrosette/ __ SHOP: Sigma: http://bit.ly/19mERWI HauteLook: http://bit.ly/1dxC6Rz BaubleBar: http://bit.ly/IUh3yz __ BLOGS: Tumblr: http://meghanrosette.tumblr.com/ Blog: http://meghanrosette.com/ __ Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with any of the brands mentioned in this video. __ Camcorder is: Canon T4i __ For business inquires contact me at melroseandpark.com with 'meghanrosette' in the subject line. Do you want to know how to deal with depression? Do you want to know about depression, and how to cope with your condition? If so, you’re in the right place. This video is meant to help you to deal with depression by giving you tactics that can help you get relief right now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYX87kkyubk Noah Elkrief This video is about how to deal with depression. In order to deal with depression and cope with your condition effectively, you first have to understand what causes depression. It may seem as if your depression is created by their being something factually wrong with you or your life, but that’s actually not true. If it was, then you would be forced to be dealing with depression in every moment that the facts were the same. But, that’s not the case. While your job, house, appearance, personality remain the same, you stop feeling depressed in any moment that you are distracted from your thoughts. That means that depression is created by thoughts not by facts. That means your feelings aren’t created by anything being wrong with you. How to deal with depression, and cope with your condition? Recognize that who you are is not a depressed person. You are there, and feelings come and go. Sometimes sadness is here, sometimes joy, sometimes hopelessness. None of those feelings are who you are. They are a feeling in a moment. How to deal with depression, and cope with your condition? Find what thoughts are creating your feelings of depression. In dealing with depression, any time you have the unwanted feelings of depression, it is because there are thoughts or stories that are being played in your mind. If you want to lose your depression, you first have to identify what specific stories or thoughts are going on that are creating the depression. Write these thoughts or stories down on paper. How to deal with depression, and cope with your condition? Investigate the validity of the thoughts that are going on in your mind. If a thought says “I am worthless” or “I am a failure” question that assumption. Ask yourself “Can I think of any reasons, evidence, or examples as to why the opposite might be true?” Don’t try to convince yourself that you’re great. Try to ask questions that enable you to discover that your original negative assumptions about yourself and your life might not be true or valid. I hope that this video about how to deal with depression to be helpful. View my website here: http://www.liveinthemoment.org/ View my disclaimer here: http://www.liveinthemoment.org/disclaimer/
