I quit a 2 year perc habit with kratom,, been 4 days only, but a huge start,, all it takes is some willpower,, got like 20 percs left within my reach but no desire to eat them,,,maybe save them for next year after I pass my piss test for a new job, or prolly not,,thank you kratom
Imagine if they found coffee/caffeine today... How bad would the negative effects list be! Addictive - headaches- need more over time - dehydration... the list would look pretty bad. I think Kratom is on par with coffee, we're almost all addicted to our coffee but most of us handle it just fine.
I'm a daily Kratom user for Chronic Fatigue and like weed, I also like the good mood feeling I get.
I will say this plant can be very helpful for a variety of medicinal uses. however I personally cannot recommend it for recreational use as I found it quite psychologically addicting (I do, however, have an intensely addictive personality, so take this advice with a grain of salt)
#KEEPKRATOMLEGAL!!! LIKE ANYTHING ON THIS EARTH, IF YOU ABUSE IT, IT'S GOING TO TURN ON YOU!!! Moderation as much as possible people. If your doing kratom to get high...DON'T BOTHER!
I guarantee, if you do feel like your hooked on kratom? Detoxing from it is a piece of cake compared to hard core opiates...WORD!!
TRUE GIFT FROM GOD, YOU KNOW IF YOU'VE GOT AN ADDICTIVE PERSONALITY, JUST KEEP IT IN CHECK!! THANK YOU for the informative video. STAY SAFE & WISE ...RESEARCH IT WELL and use COMMON SENSE.
NO!! Do your research on it. Experiment with it and judge for yourself!
Talk with people who know what there talking about..don't depend on these comments!!!! I use it for work, standing on a concrete floor all day is rough!
I was cautious for a while, started off with capsules (green vein) 3-4 just to make sure my body excepted it,no allergies!?? Now I'm using a mixture of green & white vein. Couple scoops (tsp) mixed with OJ ...tastes like grass clippings for a while, but you get use to it...It's really not as bad as some people say..2-3 times a day average wrks for me ...worth trying. Hope this helps a little!?? OH BTW, DOESN'T SHOW UP ON ANY DRUG TEST♡ GOOD LUCK ♡♡ #kratom warriors..keep it LEGAL!!! ;^)
I've cronical tension headaches for more than than years. No medecin or doctor could help me.
I'm thinking to try cratom. Anybody has experience with chronic headaches and cratom?
What do you think guys?
Thanks for any help.
if kratom dangers and make death people and illegal why cigarette do not illegal ?? cigarette also make people death everyday..I help kratom farmer in Indonesia to forward the shipments to USA and PERU... and make controversial between our farmer, transporter and our Indonesia Customs...
Kratom may have saved me from becoming addicted to real opiates, but now I'm addicted to kratom. I've been trying for half a year to kick it and its been tough. The irritability, lack of motivation,
and physical pains are very real when quitting. The first time I quit I was even sick for 3 days. As a recreational drug its fine, but seriously don't make kratom a daily drug because you will end up hooked on it like me.
Sounds like you intentions started off good!? Being addicted to kratom isn't such a bad thing. CIGARETTES ARE ADDICTIVE RIGHT OUTTA THE GATE..AND they'll KILL YOU!!? People don't seem to care to much about that..RIGHT? Kratom seems pretty SAFE and it's such a gift from God!!
SORRY TO HEAR YOUR ADDICTED TO SUCH A AMAZING PLANT..bummer
Moderation is my MOTTO..#KeepKratomLegal!
@ Whats his name. I have the same story, the exact same story. I was lifted out of my misery into a blessed new start. Fresh, happy, content. Like a dog i returned to my vomit and ate it. We will be lifted up again after we are tried in His fire. Stay strong in mind and prayer. Without God we are lost.
@What's His Name if faith in a higher power helps you then run with it. Run with it and take all the money you spent on drugs and see a psychologist instead. I don't believe in god but I hope your faith brings you happiness.
EDIT: wow I can't spell lol
Howeyroll Right on well I've heard to stay away from the extracts because dependency, but in all actuallity its all adictive and I just want out of all bondage you know what I mean? I dont wanna be dependent on anything except for the essentials of life. I messed up because after being supernaturaly delivered from 16 years of addiction to H ,pain meds and xanax by Christ, I started doing kratom for pain relief and energy (This wasn't until nearly 3 years after being saved, healed though) but the point is I just wanna get back to the cross. Not sure what you believe about that, but be blessed..
Kratom saved my life!! I wasn't able to walk from chronic pain and was on oxycontin for ten years but with kratom I got off my prescription meds and walk and hike now! It saved my life and my pain is manageable now I feel normal! Kratom gave me my life back!
This guy knows his shit, and from the info in this video we can clearly see there is still a lot we do not know about this leaf.
I see a full spectrum extract extended release being very useful in medical settings.
Kratom helped me kick my problematic alcohol habit. I take about 3g every 3 days. I don't find it addictive. I don't feel compelled to take it, but it helps me when I feel "off". I use the green vein strain Maeng Da for its stimulant properties and also it does help relieve a lot of my lower back pain (5 permanently herniated disks--L1 to L5)
Now the FDA wants to classify kratom as an opioid and put it in Schedule 1... :-\
Opioids/opiates, only come from the poppy flower! This is an entirely different plant species.
I guess government just wants to keep people dumbed down with alcohol.
Opioids are Opioid receptor agonists that have similar effects to Morphine. No, not all Opioids come from the poppy flower. Fentanyl is a synthethic Opioid for example. Mitragynine and 7-Hydroxy-Mitragynine are two of the many alkaloids Kratom produces, they are naturally occuring opioids.
Opiates are Opioids which naturally occur in the poppy plant. Morphine and Codeine.
You got this mixed up.
I thought kratom was completely safe and used up to 10 grams daily. Then a close friend of mine started consuming it too and no later than one week later she had to go to the hospital for liver failure. It’s weird how it affects different people. Some people take 4 grams of Tylenol and they’re fine where as others would need medical attention. I love kratom but I think we need more research before everybody starts self medicating.
Redant23 well without disclosing too much information, I’m pretty close to her and the only other drug she’s ever used was weed. She doesn’t even take Tylenol (she’s kind of a hippy and doesn’t believe in that stuff). It should be noted that I’m a medical professional myself and after looking over her blood tests, I agree with the doctors conclusion that i was most likely kratom induced. I had the same batch as her and i was fine and we took via tea so we were pretty hydrated. Plus her blood tests showed no signs of dehydration.
Again though, I was completely fine so this leads me to believe that although rare, some people’s bodies do not respond well to kratom. It’s not surprising because if you introduce any drug into a large enough population, one person is bound to have a bad reaction. All I’m saying is I want more research and we need to be very cautious and not treat it likes it’s perfectly safe. The last thing I want is a bunch of teenagers getting into this stuff and ruining it for the rest of us like they did with vapes.
tyawesome johnson did your friend use the same batch? Its possible that since kratom is so unregulated some batches could contain pesticides that cause the liver toxicity. Or it could just be a reaction directly from kratom. Research needed!! for sure!
KittyCow I mean I used it heavily with no issues, I believe it’s incredibly rare which was why I was so surprised that a friend of mine after one use got severe liver toxicity. I think there may be some kind of pre disposition at play here but again we certainly need more research.
When I got to quit using methadone. I didn't taper from 200mg either I ctd on 200 youre gonna suffer inevitably and decreasing my dose fast or slow- all I was doing was prolonging my pain and the inevitability I will be sick. I never "stabilized " on a doss of done it just went up and up. I was only 22 years old. It took having a stroke for Me to stop taking life for granted and to realize I have a huge huge problem I also have abnormal liver function and quote-unquote abnormalities I'm not sure what all that means I'm pretty sure it means cirrhosis from taking all the acetaminophen based products from the doctor for a decade. And going through every type of prescription those were just my last prescriptions I mean this guy was giving me literally near 400 codeine pills a month and about the same amount of Narco. We even talked about putting me on Dilaudid and morphine as I didn't really enjoy codeine and had to take an overdose of it everyday to get a mild effect because my tolerance was outrageous I lost 30 lb my life went down the shitter, I was homeless 4 7 months living under a bridge downtown Houston next to last concert Cafe and I'll and up waking up under that bridge every day and I'd go to Panhandle around 6 and by 7:30 I usually had 15 or $20 and I would go by as much heroin as I could and the speed I could usually get for free unless I wanted a lot of it like enough to go on a binge for 5 or 6 days but lines are a shot one or two a day I could get for free so I'm be shooting a crystal in the morning getting up and being so much pleasure from the meth that I don't feel dope sick and then go use that energy to go buy heroin it was a never-ending cycle y'all know the story I ain't the first person or that this kind of stuff has happened to and it's a damn shame but I did get clean and if I could do it there's no way I do not think anyone else can't accomplish the same thing because I had no light at the end of the tunnel
I did the methadone maintenance for a little more then a year it actually just made my addiction WORSE. It just kept me from kicking in doors and pointing a tec-9 in someones face for money or dope. Complete 360 degree change in my life.
Also used Methamphetamine (iv)
All this shit started with a doctor when I was young and stupid they had me on 30mgs of norco and 2mg xanax and 30mg ir adderal and 300mg codiene sulphate and 2mg klonopin x2(4mg daily) and 50mg butalbital compound with acetaminophen and caffeine. Some kinds barbiturate for headaches, only one of the scripts I never used what so ever until opiate WD first week for my migraines and hopefully get a real nights sleep.
I have been clean a year and 12 days now.
I had quite a history of drugs addiction back then, sleeping pills, cough syrup, weed, ecstasy and many, many other things that finally ruined me physically and mentally.
I then realized it was stupid and i need to change myself, so i tried the famous cold turkey. It was harsh, unpleasant at all, and was affecting me in all aspects of my life, i was angry, depressed, anxious and emotionally flat all the time, can't laugh, can't feel deep empathy and i was so suicidal about it. It was when i tried giving kratom a chance, it was nice, i'm mentally more stable when consuming it, and the only thing that feels bad when i did kratom was the constipation.
I was then gave kratom a good cold turkey, and i don't feel any kind of urge to consume any kind drugs for longer period.
I got myself back, i'm now pretty clean in term of being abusive to any kind of drugs, mentally healthier, being who i used to be before all of my drugs habit, won my social life back and definitely got my pride and creativity back.
I'm not a hypocrite, i must admit that i am still occasionally consume weed and alcohol for fun, but no longer as a habit.
I don't and will never recommend kratom as a drug, it's a life saver for those who really need it.
For what I’ve seen on online from comments, Kratom has amazing benefits. The FDA and the DEA are hell bent to get it into the schedule 1 category. If your read this, I’d advise that you do your research and please be responsible with it. I’d hate to see it illegalized because of lack of knowledge of the substance by the user.
Now the lying paid off FDA and CNN news are pushing lies about Kratom being a "dangerous synthetic drug like heroin" Good God some people actually believe this horseshit. There is nothing dangerous about this plant, and it should be used in moderation like everything else. #KeepKratomLegal #PlantsOverPills Please write your politicians!
Herion is not nautral, it is a semi-synthetic opioid derived from morphine. Herion along with oxycodone (Oxycontin/Percocet) & hydrocodone (Vicodin/Norco/Lortab) are all semi-synthetic opioids. Herion is still artificial but I do believe it is more natural than oxycondone & hydrocodone.
I am having a bit of trouble with the statement a ' dangerous synthetic drug like heroin' that you wrote in your comment. I am no scientist or pharmacologist, but it is my understanding that heroin comes from a natural plant called the poppy. Nothing synthetic about it. The synthetic opioids that so-called reporters and government officials including the CDC are reporting on is called Carfentanil. This is a synthetic opioid drug made for decades and used to treat wildlife like elephants. It is now being produced by China, shipped into our Country via Florida and Mexico, made into pills that look like Vicodin, xanax, heroin, just about anything you can think of by drug dealers who acquired pill cutters from Amazon and started this so called epidemic across America, called the Fentanyl Opioid Crisis. You can not inhale fentanyl and overdoes on the scene as has been happening to law enforcement officers. The DEA knows, The CDC knows, The Congress knows, The FDA knows and now you know.
I don't drink or do drugs. I have suffered with chronic pain for decades due to several spinal fusions on my lumbar and neck. 7 separate operations with no pain medication. I was introduced to Keaton @6 months ago. I purchased it online from a company and I must say: my life would be a living hell again without it.
For 2 decades I have suffered excruciating pain 24/7 and it took my life away from me. I refused to take pain medication for obvious reasons. I figured my life sucks enough without ending up an addict.
My doctors all begged me to take strong pain meds for my suffering but I refused.
Kratom taste like ass, is near impossible to swallow no matter how you gussy it up, but I take it in the morning and at bedtime.
I have my life back. My pain has been halfed . Can you believe it??? Please do not make this all natural substance illegal. Please.
I'll give up if they do.
It wouldn't be fair. God put Kratom and Marijuana on this planet to heal mankind.
Leave it be please.
This remains the best choice for Opioid cessation, IMO. It may take more than a week, a month or even a year, but eventually it works. Furthermore, people may choose to remain on a low therapeutic dose of Kratom, ongoing, for a variety of conditions including chronic pain, anxiety and depression. I would encourage and will actively fight any attempt to ban this miraculous plant . It has a very safe profile and any banning can only be construed as an attempt to protect pharma drugs that have much greater risk, that compete with it.
Alot of these comments are over a year old..I wonder how the laws are going to change with trumps new war on chronic pain patients. .especially with sessions and christy on board.we need to be ready to fight another ban in the future..the state of Illinois is gearing up to try to change existing regulations as of a few weeks back.
Receive orders kratom wholesale prices, Aceh Indonesia:
red maeng da, green malay, green maeng da, white borneo, and red bali
Kratom has helped me immensely in my pain from breaking my back and scoliosis. I don't understand why the government won't let it just stay the way it is. It helps with almost every kind of pain or illness including depression and anxiety. I love my friend Brad Sisco for introducing it to me a year ago. It has saved my life!
this is such a good substitute, that one guy died cause he made it into a paste. i run around on it and make sure im hydrated so it moves thru my system. its great for pain, and as long as youre active i think youre safe. just take it in adequate amounts.
peggy stivason I'm not a Dr but I've witnessed 2 people who've been able to ditch destructive pharmaceutical. Plus the all day relief from arthritis for me. Then there are the several news stories that say kratom is the answer for so many addicts. I'm sure the betty Ford clinics and pharmaceutical companies will fight back but apparently the d e a has listened to the people for once. it's the pharmaceutical companies who alters raw opium that makes the opioid meds out today so addicting. opium, tho habit forming is boo where near the scourge that some of today's meds are. Don't get me wrong I'm totally against pulling powerful pain meds from those that have need.
peggy stivason excellent. i know it's helped many, just look at the responses. I'm fortunate to be healthy despite pain every day from 3 back surgeries but every now and then arthritis makes moving my limbs impossible when getting started. I've ditched the meloxicam because it wasn't really working and it's bad for the liver. Those bad days the anti inflammatory effect from red vein knock pain and stiffness 8o-90 % or more, especially once exercising. Be careful early on, too much has a really opiate like effect that might just make you want to chill instead of doing something. Small amounts work best and take breaks every few days. I don't use it all the time as so far I've been able to exercise my way out of pain. But in the winter it's not as easy. I'd much rather go herbal than pharmaceutical anyway. look at the list of side effects on some of the arthritis meds. 😣
And one other thing, it increases kidney function at first, particularly in the green and white vein, so if you feel a headache come on it's because you aren't drinking enough water. soft drinks don't count. Drink more water.
I take a stool softener gel capsule after taking kratom. Keeps me regular. You can find them at safeway. A bottle of 200 softgels is like $10.
Also, yes, lots of water, lemon water works well, since your body will absorb more of the water that way.
It's been illegal in Thailand for a really long time. Not sure about the other countries in that part of the world. Laws in America are so fucked. Don't tell me what I can/can't put in my body. As long as I stay out of other peoples lives.
1. Take it on an empty stomach. 4-6 hours after your last meal.
2. Make sure you are taking enough. I am male, 6' 4" and 200lbs. I need at LEAST 7 grams to feel any effect I wouldn't classify as placebo...
3. Make sure you are taking it with plenty of water.
4. Eat a meal after it hits you, which should take about an hour. This will also help your system metabolize the last of the kratom which will boost and prolong the effects.
5. Make sure to limit your use as much as possible, so you do not develop too much of a tolerance.
Aya allah bless knows everything about kratom. But idk where you live but goldenrulebotanicals.com ships out of state. There are sooooo many different kinds you're sure to find some that you'll love and they're more than happy to educate you.
allah bless where you at homie. No more ignorant overdosing on water connents? Or irrelevant comments about how you drank a beer once with kratom? No more complete lack of concern for someones well being because you're obviously qualified to give advice on mixing benzos with kratom? Did you finally comprehend what was said in the video is completely relevant to my argument? What's the deal, did you nod off from the xannies kicking in with the kratom?
I'm not saying don't take it, you'll die. I've taken Xanax while shooting heroin countless times and never overdosed. I just don't see how you could tell someone that it's no problem to take Xanax with kratom. Especially Xanax too bro. Benzos are no joke
Richi Rich it's called taper. For most the withdrawal is about like caffeine, which can also be pretty rough. Taper is the best way, but if you are Jin constant pain why stop. Moderation and self control is the key, but some don't have that. But it's a lot better than opiates like oxy and H, no?
Michelle Despres it works for both. Find the right variety, the red vein type seems best for pain but most that try it never look back. It doesn't get you high but it stops pain, withdrawals, and feels more like a cup of hot cocoa on the couch by the warm fire on a cold winters day kind of feeling. Warm and at peace. Comfy but not high. Calm
Michelle Despres Goldenrulebotanicals.com will for sure get you what you need, in Arizona but will ship out of state if legal. Red bison or pink Lyon would be worth trying. I like yellow MD for mood and energy. You can even make your own blends.
jason neiman I'm in Black Canyon City so Scottsdale is a bit far for me. When I run out I go to a vape shop at Greenway and 8th St. Yes the extracts come with WD that's pretty bad, I only buy plain leaf now. The extracts are nice but you can't use it everyday. Thanks for the link, you said they ship too so I'll check them out
Arizona I'm in Az too. Stay away from head shops and even extracts in my opinion. Have you ever heard of golden rule botanicals in Scottsdale? Best place and great people. Really fast and free delivery plus you get all kinds of free samples when you order so much. I got 8 ounces of powder all different strains for about $50 they ship out of town where legal. Like their fan page on Facebook and they give promotion codes every month for discounts plus you get all the newest blends and get to read everyone's reviews. Goldenrulebotanicals.com
Vemund Furre they say switch varieties often if you need it every day for chronic pain to avoid tolerance, but why would someone with chronic pain want to stop I don't know. 2-3 times a week for a boost shouldn't cause tolerance because the tolerance build up is not the same as opiate type tolerance. Once out of your system for a few days the tolerance is gone.
The Drug Classroom Yes that that is true. I just heard Chris Bell mentioning on the joe Rogan podcast using it every day for a long period without having withdrawal. But he also said it was not addictive and not psychoactive, so he clearly way to biased and don't know what he is talking about.
how many times a week do you think it is safe to use kratom?
If you mean physical dependence, that's generally going to develop if you use it daily and up the dose to counter tolerance. Providing a specific dose is difficult since the concentration varies per batch and individual responses vary. It's best to avoid daily use if you're looking to stay away from a dependent state.
As for SSRIs, I don't currently think it's a highly dangerous combination. *However*, I would still avoid it if possible. It's not totally clear how kratom's 5-HT effects could interact in terms of reducing the efficacy of SSRIs. And there could be pharmacokinetic interactions, such as kratom potentially inhibiting enzymes involved in metabolizing SSRIs.
It's important to keep in mind that Kratom does give withdrawal on stopping. It may not be as terrible as heroin withdrawal, but it is uncomfortable enough to make day-to-day activities difficult. The withdrawal is comparatively shorter though.
I am a chronic pain patient, and have been on opioid pain medications for years. This helped me to get off pain medications. I take this as needed in pill form for pain. I am so thankful I found out about this stuff.
No, as long as you are taking a clean dose and not some cheap pre packed pill from a head shop. Some of those have added benzos. I take O.P.M.S. Silver Malay Special Reserve. Yes it is sold at some head shops but it is the best product I have found in stores yet.
Compared to say, alcohol, it's practically non-toxic.
If you're concerned about that, you can take a neuroprotectant like citicholine. Or just eat a lot of eggs or omega fatty acids and your brain will be fine
Lukas Stadler I suspect it may have a small effective change in brain chemistry judging by the withdrawl symptoms. As such one can assume that certain strain taken in excess and combined with other substances may cause it to be neurotoxic.
how long will grown ass responsible adults have police and. our roman united states government and london and the illuminati treat us like children this is our world not theirs they supposed to serv us not the other way around if we never rise up and tear down their system it will kill us all when they are tired of the good little slaves only thing left is death to us all i think they forgot that we hold the power and we just give it all away like unresponsive unreasonable little brats damn they have been killing our families all of us no one even cares to busy being a good little slave wake up people on planet earth take back all that. has been stolen or the only. american dream it will be is the one you never wake up from food land air water media doctors cameras lawers judges stores all bullshit fake wake up please wake up
Wondering about any nutrition, vitamin or supplement upgrading I can take before taking Kratom. Last time I used it I noticed a change in my brain of some sorta deplete related feeling. What exactly does it "Tax" on my brain or other systems in body. I use it primarily for additional energy for lifting weights session. Thanks any information would be appreciated. Its on sale at kwikbotanical via amazon/previously kwikkratom. It helps me go further in a simple workout.
I've done a lot of drugs like a lot and honestly people who deny the fact that kratom leaves you feeling high.... I just don't know what to tell them it does. possibly the fast tolerance build up is what's confusing them who knows people can be ignorant/harsh when it comes to their opinions on drugs.
You can definitely feel that it's a mix of things - the various effects kick in & taper on at different speeds, and there is pain reduction/balmy feeling long after the stimulant, euphoria or "chillax" effects are gone.
K2?? Really... I'm pretty sure that K2 aka synthetic marijuana is a totally different substance. They even showed the pics of an open bag, rolling papers and a rolled spliff!! Lmao. Thats exactly the kind dumbass douchebaggery that gives this incredible plant a bad name, image or reputation. Otherwise, I thought this video was pretty informative til that little uniformed rant about Kratom being K2!!
Thanks for not slamming me on that. I very rarely find a reason to comment on videos, of any nature, regardless of my position or opinion on the topic. Out of all the videos I've watched about Kratom this particular video has been the most informative, and thorough, so thank you for that. No doubt about it, as soon as I thought there was something that could further vilify Kratom I jumped to conclusions and spoke too soon. My apologies for the negative words and comments. Where I live Kratom is very popular. There are shops, tea bars and vendors all over the place and there's a lot of people that desire to be further educated. There are also a lot people, within this growing community of enthusiasts with medical, chemistry and botany backgrounds that have conflicting information or "facts". However, the general consensus is that Kratom is good!! It may not be for everyone, just like marijuana, alcohol, Tylenol or Aleve. I just hope that it stays legal, affordable and readily available for everyone to make their own personal decision as to whether its for them or not.
I never said it *was* K2. I said its active drugs have shown up *in* K2, which is one of many "herbal" products with varying composition. Hence the reason people shouldn't use blends of that sort. If you can point to anything "uninformed" in the video I'd be glad to respond.
what I am suggesting is that mother nature has a better grasp at balancing out the pros and con's of substances within its purview. Its approximately 7 out of 10 times( an estimate, not to quote, but as example), when people abuse and misuse such compounds that trouble ensues. the record is not so great when it comes to the negatives associated with refined chemical substances that are often touted as drugs of worth. It is much easier to take a chemical that is separated from a source, and refined to a point that it becomes massively more potent than anything mother nature would cook up, and to abuse it for serious consequences, when in a natural form, chances are high you'd get very I'll long before you ever reached such potency with the original substance. This is not conjecture, this is observed anecdotal evidence. and not by a central source that spouts the same garbage as fact over and over again, until people begin to believe it.
Its irrelevant to me whether you agree, but facts deserve to be known. you may disagree, but that does not make my opinions, my facts, nor the observations of millions of people who have direct knowledge gained from this plant in their lives, all wrong. Such assertions would be considered as carrying a bias, and that kind of thing should be left at the door when concerning facts for legitimate knowledge, for the benefit of all of society. I hope you guys will consider this before further bashing peoples opinions, simply because it does not fit within your agenda.
Again, that's supposition. the active ingredients are not necessarily safer in a refined form. that goes down to personal experience, and individual chemistry. Also, there's something to be said in not looking at something as only the some of its parts. what some may believe is an inactive component, may, given further study and research, be proven to be an important component of a whole. To think that as individuals, who have only been alive a fraction of the time the planet earth has been, know all their is on any given creation that mother nature has cooked up, is at least, borderline arrogance, at worst, complete stupidity. We as a whole, are constantly learning just how small we are, given the grand scheme of this planets experience. We shouldn't assume that just because we refine something, and it appears to be the same, or better, that it necessarily is. That's when we get into trouble, despite our best intentions. what I will say, is I agree in part that we need a better way to make sure that when we do wish to go to a plant source for a given effect, that it would be nice to have a better way to guarantee what it is that we are truly getting. As unfortunately, its often difficult to gain knowledge about the source of a plant, when we may not have easy direct access to said source.
in that sense, refined chemicals, under watch of a safety board, can perhaps seem more convenient. but it can be a toss up on that in the end. Don't get me wrong, I commend the attempt to get reliable, and accurate information to as many as are seeking it, I just wish to see as unbiased and accurate as possible information, be presented. And with no other agenda but to educate, and inform. So that people truly understand all their options, without the undue influence of the powers at be. As long as that is what you are truly seeking, then weather we agree completely or not, I will give credit where it is do.
again, I never suggested all plants were the same, or less prone to overdose, so please do not twist my words. indeed, it is entirely plausible to have the possibility that someone can bypass natures safeties, and even at a relatively low amount, gain a reaction that is detrimental to their health. In that regard its no different than anything else.. to much of the wrong thing, can be bad. everyone has different tolerances, body chemistry, and reactions to various substances, regardless of how they are introduced. That has never been what I was saying, so do not say it is. nor is it that plants are safer than drugs.. again for the reasons listed above, but.. to suggest that they are worse, which seems to be the tone if your argument, is what is truly false. if you honestly check the statistics, I guarantee you will find many more problems associated with drugs from refined or enhanced sources than you you ever will about kratom in its natural form, which is the topic of this whole discussion.
to take that line is what seems disingenuous. This is not about whether drugs or plants are safer in case of overdose.. anything in overdose is going to be bad for you. this is about lumping a plant, and many plants, under the Brod category of drug, and then trying to assert kratom in there in the same go.
every plant is different. so is every drug, but that similarly on that one point does not make them the same thing. and its messy categorization like that, that leads to so many problems in how people perceive this whole topic.
And indeed your suggestion is incorrect. "Mother nature" (natural processes yielding the evolution of species) doesn't inherently produce drugs that are safer in overdose than synthetic drugs. We have countless examples of this. There are instances where only a tiny relative amount of plant material when taken as a drug is physically dangerous. And there are instances where you'll almost never die from a synthetic drug. And vice versa.
Earth isn't a special source of drugs when it comes to safety. This is something toxicologists, naturalists, and pharmacologists have known for a long time.
such Brod terms only serve to confuse issues, to say a plant is a drug, is to Brod a term, as is saying that if people use something for a desired effect, that its a drug. under such loose terms, half the items we ingest for sustenance are open to the term drug as implied. that's why we have such separate definitions as food, herb, or drug. I don't think being clear in ones point is a minor issue. As for my opinion not being supported by the facts, in your opinion.. well that's your opinion. and your welcome to it, but I'd say your reaching a bit on that too. again that's my opinion, but I think I'm justified in it. and fairs fair, if your entitled to yours, I'm entitled to mine. so that's neither hear nor there. bias should be kept out of information presented as fact. Again, my opinion. but as I said, I don't expect you to agree. it makes no difference to me. what does, is making sure people know the difference between fact, and opinion. and getting all the facts out into the hands of the people its meant to protect.
You're "entitled" to an opinion, but opinions can be false. If your suggestion is that plants are inherently safer, you're simply false. You may continue holding that opinion, but it's not supported.
Drug is actually a much broader term than I often use it as, so that's not an issue. Outside of food, basically anything with a discernible effect on humans can be grouped under "drug."
I dislike when people refer to natural plants that have many substances within them, as themselves a drug. Kratom in its natural state is NOT a drug. it is a plant leaf, even possibly considered an herb, though I will not go there. it contains many alkaloid substances within the overall makeup of the plant that if isolated, and refined, could then be called a drug. but in its natural form, those mixes of alkaloid substances, have many effects, some of which may cancel or mitigate the effects of the other alkaloids. it just so happens that when taken as a tea, or chewed, that those mixed alkaloid substances tend to have beneficial effects for many people. But that in and of itself is not a reason in which to classify kratom, Mytragyna Specioca Korthals, as a drug. that it not the correct term. it is a plant with drug potential, but not a drug in and of itself. It needs researched. perhaps regulated, to prevent unsavory people from putting real, and refined potent drugs into the mix, adding real extra danger to the possible effects. but not put into a classification system as a drug, as in and of itself, it is not! it is a tree. it contains many substances that could be refined to create drugs, but is not in its natural form a drug in any sense. one reason tgey can not patent it even if tgey wanted to, as its not a single man made refined substance. I'm not claiming its perfectly safe, fact is we don't know all the effects that this little plant may have on the human body over time, but I do know the dangers associated with our patented chemical drugs that many physicians seem to prescribe as a stop gap for pain. And from what is known, over many centuries of use in Asia in folk medicine, I'd prefer to stick with the stuff that was made by mother nature, as for the most part, mother nature seems to have practice in balancing out positives and negatives far better than we do as a people.
It's not misinformation. What is misinformation, however, is the suggestion that plants are inherently safer than synthetic drugs.
"Drug" has been used to refer to plants for quite a while. It's a term of convenience used by many people, including myself. This is the same reason the statement "peyote is a hallucinogen (a *drug*)" isn't something almost anyone takes issue with.
If statements like, "Ayahuasca is a drug used in Peru" or "Hallucinogenic drugs include LSD and Psilocybe cubensis" upset you, that's unfortunate.
But it's nice that it's your biggest criticism of the content.
We simply disagree and I don't believe your opinion is supported by the evidence. There's nothing special about "mother nature" drugs vs synthetic drugs. The Earth has produced quite a number of easily dangerous drugs as well as many drugs that are quite safe in overdose. The same goes for labs.
As for calling it a "drug" or not, I'm going to refer to a plant as a "drug" if people are using at as such and it does indeed contain active drugs. Hence why I refer to both the plant as a whole (a drug complex) and the active components as "drugs." This also applies to peyote, P. viridis, Datura inoxia, cannabis, etc, etc.
Unless there's an entirely unjustified stigma associated with the term "drug," this seems like a relatively unimportant point.
https://www.organicfacts.net/health-benefits/other/kratom-leaves.html over 7 months now taking kratom everyday. Not one bad side effect. The testimony of millions of consumers, & the studies, & the evidence amounts to destroying the government narrative.
One thing I noticed with kratom using at about 30g a day for 3 months the w/d is sort of surreal. It's not the intense physical pain sort of feeling you'd get with regular opiates. Kratom w/d is just sort of a dysphoric feeling and mainly psychological, although there still is physical symptoms (lasting only 36 hours or so). I'd recommend weening off. It's not bad at all.
I would say, stay away from it. I have heard reports of people having seizures while combining the two. I would stay away from it just because in case something does happen, I wouldn't want to dirty kratom's name.
Antidepressants are medications that can help relieve symptoms of depression, social anxiety disorder, anxiety disorders, seasonal affective disorder, and dysthymia, or mild chronic depression, as well as other conditions.
They aim to correct chemical imbalances of neurotransmitters in the brain that are believed to be responsible for changes in mood and behavior.
Depression Medications (Antidepressants)
These are the most commonly prescribed type of antidepressant.
Serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) are used to treat major depression, mood disorders, and possibly but less commonly attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, menopausal symptoms, fibromyalgia, and chronic neuropathic pain.
SNRIs raise levels of serotonin and norepinephrine, two neurotransmitters in the brain that play a key role in stabilizing mood.
Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are the most commonly prescribed antidepressants. They are effective in treating depression, and they have fewer side effects than the other antidepressants.
SSRIs block the reuptake, or absorption, of serotonin in the brain. This makes it easier for the brain cells to receive and send messages, resulting in better and more stable moods.
They are called "selective" because they mainly seem to affect serotonin, and not the other neurotransmitters.
